Testimonials

As parents of two girls, we were concerned about their ability to protect themselves as they moved towards independence and out of our realm of protection. We enrolled both girls in Tae Kwon Do at Vision Martial Arts and our main focus was simple self-defense. What we didn't expect were the other benefits that came along with this skill--those that build strong minds and bodies (discipline, respect, honesty, confidence, hard work). As our oldest grows, she is experiencing how it feels to walk tall and have confidence in what she can do, so much that she's questioned why Tae Kwon Do was just for her and her sister. It made sense that if she needed to know how to protect herself - then it was just as important that her parents were able to do the same. Now, as a Martial Arts family, we share practice times at home where the children are are the teachers, class times, and a common goal. Most importantly - we are having fun together!!

Thank you Mrs. Reeve for all the fun and good times I had at the school. Thanks for being there too.

Dear Diane;

You can't know how wonderful your gesture of presenting my son with a trophy in "COURAGE" has affected him. It is the first trophy he has ever received and his voice and eyes just glowed as he told me about receiving it. You are so encouraging, insightful, inspiring, patient and understanding - not just with my son and his challenges, but with everyone you interact with at Vision Martial Arts. It is a pleasure, an honor and privilege to be associated with you and your staff. Thanks for all you do.
- VMAC Parent of 4-year-old child

Tae Kwon Do makes me feel proud. It makes me proud because I am learning how to defend myself. I am learning self-defense and nine-step-block. In Tae Kwon Do we also exercise our bodies so we are nice and strong. Tae Kwon Do means a lot to me. Tae Kwon Do rocks!!
- VMAC Jr. Student, age 10

Learning Tae Kwon Do, helps me stand up to a bully. I feel good because I got my Yellow Belt. I like practicing wrist grabs. I like kicking.
- VMAC Jr. Student, age 8

Diane:
This note is long overdue. Thank you for taking your time to teach my wife & friends some basic self-defense and strategy exercises. They found it practical, educational and fun!

Dear Ms. Reeve:

Just stopped by to say hello...Life is crazy. We are numbers 2 and 3 in our class...(because we are nerds...and you raised us right). We love you! Yes! And we miss you guys...Ahh, where does the time go? We'll stop by again sometime soon. Take care of yourselves and Mr. Hanna...and Jesse...and everyone.

Dear Diane,

I am writing to let you know that you have really allowed my dreams to come true. When I first started out as a martial arts student, I never thought I would achieve what I have. People always say that they never hear from their instructors, well in this case it is the opposite. You are always encouraging me. When I see you perform, I wish I could perform with as much confidence in the little things that you take for granted. I am wishing that your dreams come true and you get from life all you want. God is in everyone's dreams.

- Adult TKD Student

Dear Ms. Reeve,

It is with sadness that I am writing to tell you that we are moving and will no longer be coming to Vision Martial Arts as of May 31, 2003. Nathan and Seth have enjoyed learning Tae Kwon Do with you more than anything they have ever done. You are a wonderful teacher and role model. I only hope we can find the same quality program in Tulsa.

- Mother of VMAC students, ages 6 and 7

Dear Mrs. Reeve,

Thanks for making a great party for us.
My friend and I had the best time.
It rocked!

- Daniel Fisher

Great class! Brought up issues, I had thought about.

Give me more confidence. Covered a lot of information and would like further instructions. Feel more confident but would like to continue more classes, until it become ingrained!
- Georgia Leith

I enrolled my two kids, ages 4 and 8, in TKD at Vision Martial Arts center last year.  It was the best thing I ever did.  My 8 year olds confidence, agility, and strength has improved dramatically.  He enjoys his classes and his teachers.  My 4 year old is following her brother’s footsteps.  Not only do they learn TKD, but also how to deal with bullies and strangers.  VMAC is the best place to go learn and respect TKD or any martial arts.
- Laura Aronson

It is with great appreciation that we acknowledge the positive impact you and VMAC have had upon our daughter Elizabeth during the last three years.  From her first step into the Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do as a white belt to the present where she is poised to be a black belt candidate, Elizabeth has received excellent instruction and encouragement by you and your instructors.  Our family commitment with Elizabeth to regularly attend classes at VMAC has reaped rewards beyond the dojo mat and into the realm of long-term life skills.  These include self-confidence, setting personal goals, teamwork, healthy habits, street smarts and safety. Thank you again for your personal commitment to Elizabeth and all of the VMAC students.

I’ve come to know the pursuit of my Black Belt is truly a journey, a journey into learning my body and self more than I expected, and more than ever before. I’ve recognized that during the time of my earlier belts, while I was practicing, studying, and learning, I was very focused on the reward of the next new belt color. During my Green Belt period I became aware that I was becoming less interested in the reward and becoming more interested in the process, the moment, the experience of learning the art. I appreciate the leadership and commitment to a quality learning experience demonstrated by Ms. Reeve and her staff at VMAC. I have confidence that I will succeed and reach my designation and goal of being a Black Belt.  I’ve learned the real reward for me is in the Journey and not the Destination.
- Randy Daniel

I feel: I have been learning Tae Kwon Do from the teachers at Vision Martial Arts for more than six months.  I feel much calmer.  More courage is building up in me.  The courage to do things I have never done before.  Things like standing up to a bully and, making friends with a bully.  I feel like I can be more helpful because I have confidence in me.  I am going to be a Black Belt some day.
- Tanner Hocking, Age 11

It was early 2004 when I started to explore the different martial arts centers in Plano. After looking into 7 or 8 different Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Jujitsu facilities, I found one common theme-the master of the dojo did not want the parents involved in the same class as their children.  They all said the same thing, that the children would look to the parents to let them out of doing something whenever things got tough in class.  This would then interfere with the child’s success and would not be in line with their hard core teaching styles! I’d kind of given up looking for a family karate opportunity when I saw an advertisement for Vision Martial Arts (VMA).  I grabbed my oldest son, we took advantage of the complimentary classes and were hooked immediately.   In a few months, my youngest son wrapped up his football season and joined us and suddenly we were the “Three Ninjas.” Enrolling at VMA has turned out to be one of the best choices I’ve ever made and we’re nearly halfway to our Black Belts.  Thanks Vision Martial Arts!

- Todd, David and John Bloom

I enrolled at Vision Martial Arts to learn self defense, have some fun and to keep in shape.  It did not take long to realize that I was going to get much more out of martial arts.  I have learned self discipline, the importance of setting goals, how to focus my training and have developed relationships with other students and instructors.  I have been taking Kenpo for 10 months and can see the development of my self defense skills. My seven year old son also joined Tae Kwon Do and he loves it.  He is developing self confidence, respect, self confidence and the ability to defend himself.  He really enjoys going to class at Vision Martial Arts.  We enjoy taking martial arts together and having the common bond.  I know the investment in the cost for our martial arts will prove to be a wise investment. We both enjoy the time we spend at the dojo.  I rely recommend Ms. Reeves and Vision Martial Arts.
