About Our Owner

Diane Reeve is a native Texan who began her martial arts training in 1985 under Grandmaster Keith Yates.  She holds a Masters Degree in Education and has taught Martial Arts for over 20  years.  She was the first woman to be promoted to Black Belt by Yates (in 1989) and holds Black Belts in Ed Parkers Kenpo (Sifu Rick Fowler), Kobudo (Yates) and Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei (John Lindsay/Shoto Tanemura).

She was promoted to 5th Degree Black Belt (Tae Kwon Do) in 2002 by Grandmaster J. Pat Burleson, and has trained with a number of high-ranking martial artists from across the country.  Reeve was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 1998 and was selected as AKATO's Instructor of the Year in 1993 and 1996.  She is a certified "America in Defense" Instructor through Bob Wall's World Black Belt organization, and was featured as the Instructor of the Month on that website in October, 2002.  Reeve was recently inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame (June 2007).

Reeve began her martial arts writing career in 1992 and has written for many periodicals including Black Belt, Inside Tae Kwon Do, Karate/Kung Fu Illustrated and Inside Karate.  She is a contributing author to the book The Ultimate Guide to Tae Kwon Do.  Reeve created and produced her own video "The Complete Video of Warm-ups & Conditioning" and appears in "The Complete Video of Tae Kwon Do Forms" Volume 1.  In addition to being featured on several metroplex television stations, she has also written for her city newsletter column on self defense.

In 1995 Ms. Reeve opened Vision Martial Center in Plano, TX, creating the motto "Building Positive Life Skills Through Martial Arts."  Currently boasting an enrollment of over 240 students, it is one of the largest in the city.  She promoted her 50th Black Belt May, 2004 and had promoted over 100 students to Black Belt and above.  Ms. Reeve has donated thousands of dollars to charity through VMAC's events, and was nominated for Children's Advocacy Center Volunteer of the Year in 2004.  She recently created her own one-step self defense video. Ms. Reeve is a member of Martial Arts Industry Association and was named to the USA Martial Arts "Hall of Fame" June 6, 2007.
